    Thomas married Sophronia Cash daughter of Howard Cash and Sally Proffitt on 12 Jun 1853. Sophronia was born on 22 May 1832. She died on 2 Oct 1904.

    They had the following children:

    + 3 M i Henry Thomas Chewning was born on 5 Jan 1872. He died on 1 Oct 1935.
